Ealing sixth formers challenge MP Rupa Huq with climate change questions

Sixth form students from St Benedict's School in Ealing had a chance to challenge the MP for Ealing Central and Acton, Rupa Huq on climate change last week.

The Q&A session at the school on Eaton Rise coincided with the UN's COP26 climate conference taking place in Glasgow, which comes to a close this weekend.

Inside the new £13.8 million Gunnersbury Park sports hub

GUNNERSBURY Park's brand-new sports hub has opened its doors for the first time.

As part of Stage 2 of the government's roadmap out of lockdown, gyms were allowed to reopen on Monday, April 12.

A family-run relish business in Ealing set up during lockdown has surprised themselves by receiving a gold star award in the Great Taste Award 2021 for their chutney.

The Ealing Relish company was started last year by Sue Hutt, 20-year Ealing resident, with her partner Jim and their pineapple date and chilli chutney has now received award-winning recognition.

Seahorses and sharks live in the River Thames, study finds

Sharks and seahorses are among the unusual creatures which live in the Tidal Thames, according to a new report checking the health of the river's ecosystem.

Species of shark including tope, starry smooth hound and spurdog, can be found in the river, along with short-nosed seahorses, eels and seals.

Ealing's favourite Christmas card retailer, the Ealing Charity Christmas Card Shop (ECCCS), opened its doors this week for its 37th year at the Church of Christ the Saviour, New Broadway.

The unique shop is one of the few charity card stores where 100% of the money raised goes to charity.

Ealing: Planting starts at Katherine Buchan Meadow of 1,000 bulbs brought with Christmas Illumination prize vouchers

Planting has started at Katherine Buchan Meadow in Ealing of 1,000 bulbs that were brought with vouchers won by Olde Hanwell residents from last year's Christmas Illuminations competition.

Ealing residents in Olde Hanwell nabbed second place for their spectacular window displays in the Christmas Illumination Street competition last year, winning £200 worth of British Garden Centres vouchers.
