A Christmas tree has been installed at the top of the former Firestone building steps, now West Cross House on Great West Road, reviving the once famous Christmas tree tradition along the Golden Mile in Brentford.
Local sources guess the last time there was a Christmas tree at Firestone was in the late 1970s, and over 10 years since the Great West Road saw a Christmas tree at all.

A third person has now been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of 16-year-old Rishmeet Singh in Southall.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, 8 December and remains in custody at a north London police station.

At a meeting earlier this week the three current Southfield Councillors (Gary Busuttil, Gary Malcolm and Andrew Steed) were re-selected as the Liberal Democrat candidates for Southfield to fight the local elections which take place in May next year.
The vote took place amongst Liberal Democrat members.
