Ealing by-election candidates confirmed

Council by-elections will take place on May 6, along with the Mayor and London Assembly elections

EALING voters will be heading to the polls in May to elect three new councillors in the borough's by-elections.

Alongside the London-wide Mayoral election on May 6, residents will be able to cast their ballots for vacant posts in Ealing Broadway, Hanger Hill and Hobbayne wards.

AN Acton resident is among those trying to get the London Mayor candidates to pledge to create 60,000 green jobs and upgrade 100,000 homes in West London following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Aisha Hussain, 22, is the Associate Organiser for Citizens UK and is championing the cause for the communities that have been directly impacted by the job losses particularly at Heathrow Airport.

CORONAVIRUS has been the public health priority over the last year, but less is known about another infectious disease with similar symptoms and an infection rate that has also been multiplying.

Tuberculosis (TB) is sometimes mistakenly believed to be a 'disease of the past', but Ealing Borough records the second highest rate of the illness in London, after Newham and followed by Brent in the latest available 2018 data.
