The pub chain has announced that it would be introducing a new vegan burger meal for a limited time only.

JD Wetherspoon is bringing customers the Beyond BBQ stack burger meal from 1 January until 31 January.

The burger will be available throughout Veganuary, the month-long event in January which encourages people to try vegan food.

The Beyond BBQ stack burger features a Beyond Meat® plant-based patty, BBQ sauce, onion rings, iceberg lettuce, tomato and red onion – in a vegan brioche which is 1183 kcal.

The meal, which includes a soft or alcoholic drink, is served with chips.

Wetherspoon's marketing executive, James Vaughan, said: "We are confident that the burger will prove popular with vegans and those trying a vegan burger for the first time."

There is also a range of vegan dishes on offer all year round, with vegan menus available (dishes may vary by pub) in all Wetherspoon pubs.

For Veganuary, the range of dishes will also be highlighted on the Wetherspoon app with a digital menu. Look out for the vegan symbol to see which drinks are vegan friendly.
