THE University of West London (UWL) has joined the United Nations (UN) to continue and support its work on education, sustainability, and global collaboration.
UWL is now a United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) member, connected to over 1,500 universities in 147 countries around the world, all working to promote UN global priorities including peace, human rights and sustainable development.
As well as hosting events each year to promote key principles of the scheme, UWL will have access to global events and partners to bring even more impact to its students and communities.
Professor Anthony Woodman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UWL, said: "At a time when collaboration is so important and with a need for more ethical practices worldwide, we are delighted to be part of such an important initiative.
"UWL has a history of incredible achievements in all areas of increasing access to education and it is our mission to widen access participation in higher education among traditionally under-represented groups.
"Joining the UNAI will not only help us continue to do this, but add to our work and commitment on sustainability and help us continue to build global collaborations in teaching and research."
