THE son of a man who was reported missing in Ealing last month paid tribute to his father, who lived in Ealing and was "passionate about helping others".

Manjit Singh, 65, was reported missing by Ealing Police on August 9 in Southall.

According to his son, Harman Degun, Singh left the house without saying a word to anyone or taking his phone.

He was found to have had a heart attack in his car and passed away.

Harman Degun said:

"My dad was born in Tanzania but lived in Ealing from the age of 6.

He was very passionate about helping others and would go out of his way to help. He was especially interested in helping those who were less fortunate.

He loved Ealing and spent most of his life living in Ealing. He saw Ealing transform from a racially tense place in the 1980s to being very diverse and accepting.

He had encountered many hardships in his life however his belief in god would always pull him through any kind of situation.

In 1982 he had a vision of Jesus and then he turned his life around. From that vision, he stopped drinking and even stopped eating meat from that day on.

He worked as a bus driver for TFL and this is something that he enjoyed.

My father always lived his life to the full and maintained a positive mind-set regardless of everything he had been through in life.

Even in all of that suffering on his final day, he still had a slight smile on his face."

Thank you Harman for the dedication to your father.
