A NEW store has opened its doors for the first time at Ealing Broadway shopping centre, just in time for Christmas.

The Curated Collective had its debut on Wednesday, December 2 and is situated in the old Cath Kidston shop, opposite Costa Coffee.

There's no Christmas Market in the shopping centre this year, so Curated Collective have grouped together some Christmas Market favourites and opened up their own shop.

The shop is run by buyer, Kate McKenzie, and is a 'carefully chosen edit of independent makers and designers.'

McKenzie told Nub News: "Makers rely on Christmas, it's our busiest time of the year, so we knew we had to do something.

"It was a family idea, everyone got involved, my mum, my sister and even my step-dad.

"We originally got stock and started selling online and then got in touch with the shopping centre and asked if we could rent one of the empty units."

The new shop contains works from many familiar faces in Ealing, such as Open Ealing, Lettie B Jewellery and Mona's Collections.

"Our supplies are more than just suppliers, they are our partners.

"We know their stories, we follow and support their journey and I've worked with many of them from their early days of trading", added McKenzie.

The Curated Collective focuses on the idea of shopping with a purpose, shopping small and shopping local.

"All our products here are ethically made, eco-friendly and forward-thinking.

"We want everything to mean something, to stand for something, which is why we look for our partners to tick certain boxes in the way they work and source their products.

"This might mean their products show 'authenticity and personality', they might focus on 'sustainability and tech' in their design and production methods, or they could be leading the way with 'inclusivity and awareness,'" added the buyer.
