Teen charged with murder of 16-year-old boy in Hayes

A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of 16-year-old Kamari Johnson in Hayes, west London.
The 17-year-old male appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday, 27 May charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 29 May.
He was arrested on Saturday, 25 May by detectives investigating Johnson's murder.
Detectives continue to ask for any witnesses or anyone with information about the altercation which took place in the vicinity of Bourne Avenue and Nine Acre Close in Hayes at around 13:30hrs on Friday, 24 May to come forward and speak to police.
Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance paramedics responded and were on scene within minutes.
Despite the extensive efforts of medics Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Met says it understands the impact Johnson's death has had on the local community and are thankful for their continued support as the investigation continues.
Local residents will continue to see an increased police presence in and around the area; anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them or call police on 101.
