St Benedict's School celebrates best-ever A-level results outside Covid years

Students at St Benedict's School in Ealing are celebrating the school's strongest-ever A-level performance outside the Covid years, with more than half of grades awarded at A* or A.

A total of 114 Upper Sixth students sat more than 350 A levels this year, with 53% of grades achieving A* or A and 82% achieving A*, A or B.

The school said the results reflected the "talent, determination and ambition" of the Class of 2026, alongside the commitment of teachers, families and the wider St Benedict's community.

The vast majority of students have secured their preferred university destinations, with pupils heading to some of the UK's leading universities, including Oxford, St Andrews, King's College London, the London School of Economics, Durham, Bristol, Warwick, Manchester and Bath.

Over half of St Benedict's School grades were A* or A (credit: St Benedict's School).

Among the standout individual results were:

  • Lydia R achieved A*A A A and will study Medicine at King's College London
  • Zach P achieved A* A* A* and will study Economics at the University of Bristol
  • Evie S achieved A* A* A* A and will study Economics at the University of Warwick
  • Adam AC achieved A* A* A and will study Economics at the University of Manchester
  • Ruby S achieved A* A* A* and will study Management with Marketing at the University of Bath, alongside a work placement
  • Jake B achieved A* A* A A and will study Mathematics at the University of St Andrews
  • Sienna SP achieved A*A A and will study Law at the University of Bristol
  • Nicolae D achieved A*A A and will study Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Oxford
  • Lettie S achieved A* A* A* and will study Design at Loughborough University
  • Milo S achieved A* A* A A and will study Computer Science at King's College London
  • Aidan T achieved A* A* A and will study Psychology at LSE
  • Maria S achieved A*A A and will study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Durham University
  • Zac B achieved A* A* A* B and will study Automotive Engineering at the University of Warwick

Sienna, who is heading to Bristol to study Law, said she was "so pleased" with her results and thanked her teachers for their support.

She said: "I'm so grateful to have moved to St Benedict's for Sixth Form and to have spent the last two years at such a wonderful school, surrounded by people who have helped me grow and achieve so much."

Aidan, who will study Psychology at LSE, added: "I have had the best time here at St Benedict's. Thank you to all the wonderful teachers who have supported me and the friends I have made along the way."

Lettie received her results while travelling and was delighted to confirm her place at Loughborough University.

She said: "I was very lucky to open my results while travelling this summer and to receive a place to study Design at Loughborough University in September.

"I am extremely happy and very grateful for the support of my teachers and peers over the years who have guided me in my studies."

Evie also praised the support she received throughout her studies.

She commented: "I'm incredibly proud to see all of my hard work over the past two years pay off in my results.

"The support and encouragement from my teachers and the wider St Benedict's community have been invaluable, and I'm so excited to take everything I've learnt here into the next chapter."

Headmaster Joe Smith said the results represented an improvement on last year and the school's best performance outside the Covid years.

He said: "We are all absolutely delighted with the results achieved by the wonderful St Benedict's Class of 2026.

"I want to pay tribute to this remarkable year group, who, alongside achieving such brilliant results, have contributed to the life of St Benedict's in so many ways."

Director of Sixth Form Alex Heald said he was proud of both the students' academic achievements and their contribution to school life.

He added: "It has been a real privilege to watch them develop into confident, thoughtful young adults.

"These results reflect years of hard work and the strength of the relationships built across our Sixth Form community. I have no doubt that our students will go on to make a positive impact in whatever fields they choose."
