A SECOND new cinema will be opening in Ealing, it has been announced.
This will join the soon to be Ealing Filmworks which is now expected to open in spring 2022, along with the soon to be opened Acton independent cinema.
According to TimeOut, the three-screen venue, which is yet unnamed, will open in Ealing Broadway in early 2022.
The venue which has received planning approval will occupy the 15,000 square-feet basement space of what used to be the Karma Club at 10 High Street.
Two of the screens will seat 100 people while the third will seat 60, with Screen 1's red colour scheme paying tribute to Ealing Studios.
The venue is a partnership between British Land and Really Local Group.
Really Local Group founder Preston Benson, said: "We look forward to further enhancing the cultural offering in aboroughwith an established arts and film heritage – while also providing an adaptable, collaborative venue for locals to enjoy."
Jan De Schynkel, arts and culture manager at Ealing Council, said: "We are delighted that a new independent cinema and mixed-use community arts venue are opening in the heart of our borough.
"This great addition to Ealing town centre represents a new chapter in Ealing's rich film heritage and will only add to [its] appeal as a cultural destination and growing reputation for the arts."
