EALING Central and Acton MP, Dr Rupa Huq, has been left 'really impressed' from her recent visit to the Pop Up Gallery at Ealing Broadway shopping centre.

The Labour MP popped down (excuse the pun) to the gallery on Friday (May 21) and met some of the artists who were present.

Gallery organiser, Kate Winskill, told Nub News: "We were very glad to have Rupa with us on Friday who got the chance to talk to some of our artists.

"She was very supportive of the idea and we hope she comes back again soon."

Rupa Huq told Nub News: "I was delighted to pop along to the gallery and was really impressed with all I saw.

"Artists are drawn from a local reach and on display are all sorts of creative items on display, including 3D sculptures from things washed up on the Thames at Hammersmith, psycheledia, canvasses large and small and even rock star photography.

"It's a great initiative of Ealing Broadway Centre to repurpose an empty unit to art in this way and the collective shares in paying the rent – it's a genuine cooperative and dispels the myth of art costing in the thousands as smaller pieces of Ealing start at just £30.

"I hope the pop up has a long life brightening up the days of Ealing."

The gallery is open seven days a week, 11am-5pm.
