In May, Ofsted gave a Primary school an "outstanding" rating following a recent inspection where it noted that students at the school show "exemplary behaviour."

Gifford Primary School in Northolt, Ealing has received the best rating from Ofsted inspectors after impressing in quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, Leadership and management.

Ofsted found that the primary school ensures that the curriculum is "engaging and challenging" and that it "meets the needs of all its pupils."

In its report, the school watchdog writes: "Standards have risen rapidly at the school since the last inspection because of the pupils' outstanding progress in English and mathematics.

"Consequently, by the end of Key Stage 2, pupils' attainment in English and mathematics is at least average and improving."

It adds: "Pupils feel very safe and well cared for. The school has excellent arrangements in place to ensure that pupils are safe at all times."

In its previous inspection in 2009 Ofsted gave Gifford Primary School a "satisfactory" rating.

However, reacting to the most recent inspection, Gifford Primary School Headteacher, Miss S. Wilson says that the "outstanding" rating would not have been possible without the "hard work" of the staff and the "support" from parents.

" As you know, the success and well-being of our pupils are at the heart of everything we do, and it is the commitment of our teachers and support staff that makes this possible," says the headteacher.

"Our 'outstanding' grade is a reflection of the exceptional effort and passion our staff bring to their roles every day; we are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented and devoted team here at Gifford who work tirelessly to support our amazing pupils and families."

Miss S. Wilson adds: "As parents, your support and involvement are equally important. Your collaboration in your child's education and your partnership with the school have been crucial in achieving this success.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued trust and support."

The headteacher also thanks the school's "brilliant" pupils who without, the "outstanding" inspection result would not have been possible.

She continues: "They (the pupils) have shown remarkable resilience and commitment in all aspects of their school life, and I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

"They are an absolute credit to themselves, to you and to the whole school community."
