Police have asked for the public's help to identify a man following an allegation of upskirting involving a child.

On Monday, September 12, at around 5:30pm an unknown man travelling on a 148 bus towards White City Bus Station used a mobile phone to reportedly take a photo up the dress of a girl aged under 16.

A family member of the girl challenged the man, who alighted the bus at the next stop.

Detectives have today released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Described as black, aged in his mid-40s and about 5ft9ins, of medium build, he had very short hair and a short beard with bits of grey in it.

He was wearing a denim jacket, dark jeans and grey trainers, and carried a navy rucksack which had lighter blue strips on the shoulder straps.

Detective Sergeant Fiona Craig of the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: "This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim and her family. We are keen to speak to the man who was on the bus that day. If that man was you, or if you recognise him, please do the right thing and contact us as a matter of urgency so we can establish all the facts."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 5373/12SEP.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org.
