There are severe delays on the Elizabeth Line after a person died having been hit by a train on the line near Slough.

The Elizabeth Line was part suspended and is now experiencing severe delays between Hayes and Harlington and Reading after a person was hit by a train near Slough station.

The British Transport Police have confirmed that a person was hit by a train just before 8am, but the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Slough railway station at 7.52am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

These delays mean that anyone travelling East of Ealing towards Reading will be severely impacted by these delays, but the rest of the line is running as usual.
