A 64-year-old man with strong connections to Ealing has been convicted of child sexual abuse offences dating back to 2010.

John Ives was charged with 40 child sexual abuse offences following an extensive police investigation involving five complainants.

Appearing at Isleworth Crown Court today (Wednesday, November 2), Ives, who answered "No Comment" to all questions during police interview, was found guilty of 31 offences including buggery, indecent assault and indecency with a child.

Police say the Hammersmith resident is "well known in Ealing and surrounding areas" and have promised support to anyone abused by Ives who is yet to come forward.

Pc Shepherd the OIC said: "John Ives is well known in Ealing and surrounding areas and has now been convicted of sexual offences including involving children spanning a number of years.

"While it is great to let the residents of the area know that he has been brought to justice there may be other people who have been abused by Ives but have not yet had the strength to speak to police – I would urge anyone in that position to make contact immediately. You will be listened to and offered the appropriate support."

Ives was found guilty of seven counts of indecency with a child, 10 counts of indecent assault, 12 counts of indecent assault with a male person and two counts of buggery.

He has been remanded awaiting sentencing.
