Online apprenticeships soar at the University of West London in Ealing as learners embrace lockdown learning
ENSURING that education is not interrupted by COVID restrictions, online apprenticeships teaching is in full swing at the University of West London (UWL) ahead of National Apprenticeship Week on February 8.
UWL works with more than 100 employers each year to train and upskill hundreds of degree apprentices in digital industries, construction, business and healthcare – helping employees progress with tailored skills in their industry and helping young people get a foot on the career ladder.
Despite lockdown, growing numbers are now signing up for the training schemes for this year, as courses move online to ensure learning is not halted and UWL can continue to help employers attract talent in Ealing and West London as a whole.
All apprenticeships and qualifications with UWL are developed in partnership with industry to ensure that learning and skills are relevant and focused.
Janet Rowson, Head of Degree Apprenticeships at UWL said: "The offer for degree apprentices is expanding all the time and is an ideal way for employers and new businesses to ensure they are attracting, developing and retaining highly-skilled staff as they grow their expertise in the right areas and really add value to the workplace.
"We are incredibly proud of how our apprentices have coped during the pandemic, with many adapting to fully online learning and continuing to succeed despite the challenges."
