Ealing Nub News has reached out to each prospective Northolt Mandeville ward by-election candidate, asking them to outline what they believe are the most pressing issues in the area and how they plan to address them.

Northolt Mandeville Ward Candidates:

  • Andrew Bailey (Conservative)
  • Pedro Da Conceicao (Liberal Democrats)
  • Natalia Kubica (Green Party)
  • Conrad Lewandowski (Reform UK)
  • Dominic Henry Theo Moffitt (Labour Party)
  • Eltayeb Omima (Workers Party of Britain)

Conrad Lewandowski (Reform UK)

Standing for Reform UK, Conrad Lewandowski, said: "There is a big problem with anti-social behaviour and fly tipping in the ward.

"Many residents are worried about this, and I will work with local police to highlight where this is taking place, as well as supporting all action required to tackle this problem."

Andrew Bailey (Conservative)

Andrew Bailey from the Conservatives says he will address many local issues by holding regular forums and partnering with police and resident associations (credit: Andrew Bailey).

Standing for the Conservative Party, Andrew Bailey, said: "There are many issues in Northolt Mandeville, but based on what I hear from residents, the most concerning are: Crime, antisocial behaviour, fly-tipping across the ward, overdevelopment and unwanted tower blocks.

"To tackle these issues, I will address them as councillors did many years ago by having regular forums and partnering with police and resident associations.

"We had already seen this formula work when I worked alongside residents to stop or at least halt proposed traveller site pitches at Downs Barn Farm/ West London Shooting Ground and Northolt Driving Range.

"We obtained above 5,000 for a petition against these plans.

"Sometimes, we must look back and learn from past successes and mistakes from previous councils.

"The biggest mistake of today's Labour Council is not listening to residents."

Natalia Kubica (Green Party)

Standing for the Green Party, Natalia Kubica, said: "Across Northolt, people are choosing between heating and eating. Our reliance on fossil fuels continues to drive up energy prices and contribute to the climate crisis. If elected, I will push for renewable energy schemes as well as home insulation to bring bills down.

"Many people in Northolt are suffering due to the cost-of-living crisis, particularly elderly residents and those with caring responsibilities. A major priority of mine will be ensuring that there is adequate support available for our elderly neighbours and carers.

"As a candidate for the Green Party, it goes without saying that one of my biggest priorities will be protecting our community's green spaces, which are vital for both physical and mental health, particularly in a city like London.

"Northolt has some beautiful green spaces, and I will fight to make sure they are protected and well cared for."

Candidates from the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats, and the Workers Party of Britain have been approached for comment.
