Residents in North Acton will head to the polls on Thursday (25 June) to elect a new councillor to represent the ward on Ealing Council.

The by-election has been triggered following the resignation of Councillor Simon Anthony and will determine who represents North Acton for the next four years.

Six candidates are standing for election:

  • Abdi Ahmed (Liberal Democrat)
  • Marijn van de Geer (Green Party)
  • Sally Gorman (Conservative)
  • Jonathan Notley (Reform UK)
  • Gareth James Shaw (Labour)
  • Craig Smith (Ealing Community Independents – Putting Acton First)

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 25 June. Residents can find details of their designated polling station on their polling card or via Ealing Council's website.

Voters are reminded that they must bring an accepted form of photo identification in order to vote. Accepted forms of ID include a passport or driving licence, with a full list available on the council website.

Ealing Council says a range of accessibility measures will be available at polling stations, including wheelchair ramps, low-level polling booths and large-print ballot papers. Additional equipment will also be provided to support deaf, blind and partially sighted voters.

Anyone requiring further assistance or information about voting can contact Ealing Council's elections team on 020 8825 7777 between 9am and 5pm, or from 7am on polling day. Enquiries can also be sent by email to [email protected].

The result of the by-election is expected to be announced following the count after polls close on Thursday evening.
