A NEW pop-up market will take place in Hanwell this Saturday, May 15.

Organised by Joyous & Wild, the new market will take place between 10am-1:30pm at The Fox pub on Green Lane.

The market will include 17 stalls of which eight will be selling pre-loved children's clothes and toys.

Esther Brooks, the woman behind Joyous & Wild told Nub News: "Since the pandemic began, people have slowed down and have started buying more and more second-hand clothes and want to look after the planet.

"There aren't that many markets out there for parents to come together and sell pre-loved clothes where people can buy them for fair prices and that's what we want to do here."

The remaining stalls will be occupied by female led local businesses, by women who live in Hanwell.

The mum-of-two added: "We want to support and champion women who have managed to balance their work and their families so well during this difficult time with the pandemic.

"I've personally been really inspired by women who have set up their own businesses during lockdown, some have really turned their lives around and done amazingly."

Children's entertainment will also be present, with Be Our Guest Princesses dressing up as famous Disney princesses and telling stories and singing with the children.

Brooks, who also lives in Hanwell wants local parents to see it as a proper day out where they can shop sustainable fashion at fair prices, grab something to eat and drink from the pub and relax while their children are having fun.

She said: "It's essentially a market for local parents to buy second-hand children's clothes and toys from other local parents or buy goods from female led local businesses and at the same time support our local pub, The Fox – everything is local to Hanwell."

Entrance to the market is free and if it's deemed a success, Brooks plans to hold more markets in the future too.
