Man with sword threatens healthcare professionals in Ealing

A MAN has been arrested following an attack on health workers in South Ealing.

Members of the Met's Territorial Support Group (TSG) were called to Popes Lane last Monday (February 1) to reports of a man threatening healthcare professionals with a sword.

The health workers were conducting a mental health assessment when the 25-year-old produced the weapon and threatened them.

The TSG officers were armed with tasers and managed to arrest the man on suspicion of affray.

A police spokesperson said: "Police were called at approximately 12:14hrs on Monday, February 1 to reports of a man in possession of a knife at an address on Popes Lane, Ealing.

"Officers attended the venue and a located a 25-year-old man who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray."

A witness at the scene told Nub News: "There was a massive police incident, it looked very serious, everything was completely shut."

No injuries were reported.
