A man has been rushed to hospital following an apparent assault in Ealing last night, (July 31).

The man, aged in his mid-30s, suffered a serious head injury close to the clocktower in Hanwell, along the Uxbridge Road. He remains in a serious condition in a Central London hospital.

Following the assault, a 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers are investigating after a man was injured in an apparent assault. Officers were called at 8.57pm on Sunday, July 31, to Uxbridge Road, W7.

"A man, aged in his mid-30s, was reported to have suffered a head injury following an assault. He was taken to a central London hospital where he remains in a serious condition. A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody."
