An Iranian restaurant in New Broadway, Ealing has been given an award for significantly improving their food safety and hygiene standards.

Boof Restaurant has received a High Five award from Ealing Council's food safety team after going from a rating of one (major improvement necessary) in September 2022 to a five (very good) in January 2023.

The High Five award has been brought in to recognise local businesses which significantly improve their food safety and hygiene standards between inspections.

Mohammad Reza said: "It is important to us that we have a good food hygiene rating as we want to keep our customers safe and happy, so that they have food they can trust.

"With the support of Ealing Council, we have made significant changes and are proud of what we achieved – our score of five."

Food hygiene inspections focus on three main areas, which are: hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and management of food safety.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz said: "Big congratulations to Boof Restaurant. This award recognises the hard work that the restaurant put in to improve their food hygiene rating from one to five.

"Our food safety team do a fantastic job protecting residents and supporting businesses to ensure that the standards that our residents expect when eating out and ordering in are met.

"When those standards are not met, they are on hand to give advice, as has been the case here. It's great to see businesses turn it around and I'd encourage all food establishments in the borough to take this as an example and opportunity to hit those high standards, that our residents rightly expect."
