Northolt flat blaze sees four people taken to hospital
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has confirmed that a blaze to a block of flats on Newmarket Avenue, Northolt is now under control.
According to the LFB, half of the roof to a five room flat in Racecourse Estate was alight with people inside the building.
The London Ambulance Service say four people were treated and taken to the hospital.
Northolt resident Nataliya Klymko saw the fire unfold from her living room window, describing the scene as "something out of a movie."
She tells Ealing Nub News: "Things have died down but we still have a large fire brigade presence and the area is cordoned off.
"My younger brother noticed it (the fire)...he ran in into the kitchen and said 'I smell smoke' so we went out to find out."
She adds: "it was something out of a movie the smoke was just everywhere...I couldn't see in front of me."
According to Klymko, firefighters were evacuating people, with one person being airlifted by an air ambulance. Meanwhile, Met Police units were assisting at the scene.
Firefighters were called at 1:37pm and crews from Northolt, Ruislip, Wembley and surrounding fire stations are attending the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
