HS2 will begin the next phase of works at the Old Oak Common Station site to deliver carne parts to prepare 'East Box' for two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM).

Between January and March 2024, HS2 partners, Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture (SCSJV), will be delivering crane parts to help with the preparation of the two additional TBM's.

HS2 says: "Cranes are being delivered to prepare the 'East Box' for the delivery of two Tunnel Boring Machines which will be used to construct the Euston Tunnel, taking HS2 into Euston.

"The logistics TBM, named Lydia, which was launched from Atlas Road, will be breaking through this month. However, the cranes won't be used the extract the TBM – this will be pulled back through the tunnel."

HS2 expects works to last up to 13 weeks.
