Ealing Council offers recycling services until January 30

NOW that Christmas and New Year's have both passed, people are starting to take down their decorations, but many won't know what to do with their Christmas tree.

From today until January 30, Ealing Council is giving residents a helping hand to recycle their tree easily and in an environmentally friendly way.

You can leave your tree out as part of your kerbside rubbish and recycling collections, or you can drop it off at a local park or reuse and recycle centre.

Tree trunks must not exceed 20cm in diameter or be more than six feet tall (taller trees can be cut in two) and all decorations need to have been removed.

Fake trees will not be collected, only real ones.

Trees must be left in the designated areas only and ensure they do not block access, pathways or the public highway.

Reuse and recycling centres:

  • Acton Reuse and recycling centre, Stirling Road, W3 8DJ
  • Greenford Reuse and recycling centre, Greenford Road, UB6 9AP

Please be aware that you need to pre-book an appointment online via the council's website before attending a reuse and recycle centre.

COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing apply at all times.

Parks/open spaces:

  • Acton Park
  • Berkeley Fields (Berkeley Avenue)
  • Churchfields Park Hanwell
  • Cleveland Park
  • Ealing Central Sports Ground (Horsenden Lane South)
