History project asking for your old tapes of life in Ealing

Do you happen to have an old VHS tape capturing life in Ealing from the 1960s-80s?
If so, a history project in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery and Ealing Local History Centre would like you to dust it off and get in touch.
Your film will be digitised for free and reproduced on modern media, it may even feature in artwork for the exhibition.
The appeal is part of the project Ealing Rises Up, which aims to capture the borough's rich but largely hidden history of migration and activism.
The project is working in collaboration with local volunteer Citizen Researchers to tell inspiring stories using archive material, spoken word and film.
It will provide research into missing voices from the Ealing community, which have not been previously represented in archives and collections.
The project is working with artists Asia Ahmed and Narvir Singh, who will investigate stories of those who stood up and resisted racism and recognise some of the lesser known figures from the borough.
They will support the Citizen Researchers in their own independent research and bring it altogether for a public display in Ealing towards the end of 2021.
