LONG tailback was reported yesterday along the South Ealing Road due to drivers queuing for petrol amid national problems with fuel supply.

Reader Marc Yonder sent in a picture of long car tailback along the South Ealing Road for petrol at the Esso Triangle petrol station in south Ealing yesterday afternoon.

He said that dozens of cars queued for limited petrol, with diesel already run out.

Residents and drivers took to Twitter to share their experience of the queues through Ealing yesterday.

One Twitter user said there were queues of 300m long from Sainsbury's Local up to St Mary's Church, W5.

Another Twitter users said: "Got stuck in a jam on north circ in Ealing last night at 10pm, turns out it was the queue for the petrol station…. (Took a while to work out why some people were slipping out and overtaking the queue, glad I don't need any petrol)."

Some used Twitter to commend the work of the Esso station staff for their work "managing the queue for petrol and helping everyone fill up without any panic."

Ruqa Huq, Labour MP for Ealing Central and Acton, also took to Twitter with pictures of petrol station queues down the Uxbridge Road, with the comment "#petrolshortage induced road rage".

According to AA, roads around the petrol station in South Ealing are not currently experiencing traffic.

The Ealing Half Marathon means that roads around much of central Ealing and north west Ealing will be closed today, Sunday 26 September.
