Four men have been arrested after a police chase in Northolt culminated in the discovery of a loaded gun and a large machete.

Officers in the Met's Violent Crime Taskforce on patrol in the area grew suspicious when the driver of a vehicle failed to stop for them.

A police chase ensued by road until the driver lost control of the vehicle and all occupants made off by foot.

Police pursued the quartet in a foot chase, detained the four men and discovered a loaded gun and a large machete.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday evening (September 27) the Violent Crime Taskforce wrote: "Officers had a vehicle fail to stop in Northolt. The driver lost control and occupants made off on foot.

After a foot chase 4 males were detained. A large machete and loaded firearm recovered. Arrested and off to custody!"
