QUESTORS Theatre in the heart of Ealing will be reopening its doors to the public for three separate productions over the Christmas period.

Beginning with December 12, there will be two readings of Christmas Ghost Stories, with another two also taking place on December 20.

From December 16 to 19, five performances will take place of The Letter of Last Resort, which portrays the Prime Minister's first day in office and her decision of whether or not to launch a nuclear attack following an attack on the UK.

Finally, for four performances between December 27 and 30, Yule Be Back will be taking the stage, with a list of variety performers.

Questors Artistic Director, Alex Marker told Nub News: "We're very happy to be able to welcome our audience back.

"The government have allowed theatres to return at 50% capacity during the Christmas period, but we're only filling 100 out of 350 seats in the Judi Dench Playhouse.

"We want our audience to feel super comfortable and to quell any fears they may have about social distancing."

The venue will also implement a one-way system in order for people not to get too close to each other.

"We're lucky because we're a big theatre, but we're taking all the necessary precautions, including track and trace," added Marker.

Ealing's only theatre, similar to the entire industry has been hit hard due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We were in the middle of our 90th anniversary season in March when we were forced to close down," Marker added.

The Artistic Director however has tried to find the positives from all this: "We managed to get a lot of maintenance done to the building, volunteers worked tirelessly all these months on all types of refurbishments that wouldn't be possible if we had productions going on.

"We also did short films online over the summer, along with radio drama too, all of which was possible because people worked on these from home."
