The highest number of reports of rats in the different wards of Ealing during 2022 has been revealed.

A league table for the Ealing wards to show where the most calls to Ealing Council about rats during 2022 has been revealed by an FOI request from MyLondon.

Ealing Council had to deal with 243 calls from residents across the borough about rats in their home and the surrounding area during 2022.

Speaking to MyLondon a council spokesperson said: "Residential streets are cleaned regularly. Standard cleaning takes place either weekly, fortnightly or three-weekly and includes removing litter, broken glass, animal mess and small fly-tips.

"Deep cleaning takes place four times a year and includes standard cleaning plus weeds, blossom, leaves and the build-up of dirt and grit. Town centres and transport hubs are cleaned daily and all street litter bins are emptied at least once a day."

Greenford Broadway topped the charts with 35 total call outs, 21 being for animals in their homes and 14 calls for rats outside their home, edging out Northolt Mandeville in second with 30 total, 17 internal and 13 external.

Bottom of the list was Greenford Green, which saw just one call to the council about rats, with Southall Green and Ealing Broadway having two each and North Greenford and Hanger Hill having three-a-piece.

Ealing Council offer a pest control service for such calls, with the standard rate for dealing with rats being £76, a premium rate for £95, and a concessionary rate at £38.
