EALING has seen an increase in the number of new coronavirus cases for the sixth consecutive week.

Specifically, there was an increase of over 74% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of June 21 to 27, Ealing saw 514 new positive cases, compared to 295 the week before.

That figure represents an increase of 72.3%, with 219 more new cases.

That means there was also an increase in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 150.4, compared to 86.3 the week before.

Those figures continue to be higher than the average across London but lower compared to those nationwide in England.

London as a whole had 12,691 new cases during the week of June 21 to 27, which represents 141.6 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 97,151 new cases during the same week, correlating to 172.6 cases per 100,000 people.
