PUPILS and staff at St Benedict's School in Ealing Broadway have raised over £5,000 for two charities.
All pupils from both the junior and senior schools, along with staff members, were invited to run, walk and cycle a suggested minimum of one kilometre.
Many exceeded this, covering five, 10, and even 100 kilometres individually, raising money for the two chosen charities – The Passage, which supports the homeless and The Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Fund.
By the end of the two-week challenge, St Benedict's raised a total of £5,016.68, covering a collective total of over 4,000 kilometres.
Among the standout performances are Sixth Form students Lily and Arabella, who walked the distance of a marathon together, as well as Alexander in Year 9 who ran, cycled, walked and rowed over 100 kilometres.
The Junior School Headmaster, Mr Simmons, covered an incredible 373 kilometres.
Senior School Headmaster, Andrew Johnson, said: "It is terrific to have raised over £5,000 for these two worthy causes.
"I am very proud of everyone for showing such generous, determined support for this challenge."
St Benedict's is known for its charitable nature, often raising money for good causes.
In November last year, Year 7 students from Gervase House raised over £1,000 for St Mungo's homeless charity.
A month later the school donated over 50 Christmas hampers to Ealing Foodbank weighing just under a tonne in total.
