EALING Police are appealing to the public for assistance in the search of a 25-year-old man who went missing last Tuesday, following his brother's desperate plea for help.

Shakeel Mohammad was last seen in Hanwell at 2pm on March 16, wearing a dark zipped jacket, dark top and dark trousers.

According to his brother, Muhammad Nabeel, Shakeel had only arrived in London a month ago in order to study at Buckinghamshire New University.

"He was happy with his studies," said Muhammad.

Shakeel apparently had no belongings with him apart from a face mask when he went to a nearby park.

It was usual for him to go out to a park for a few hours without his phone, ID or money and come back before sunset.

Shakeel had broken his left knee a year ago in a motorcycle accident and he could not run as a result and could only bend his knee enough to walk, following a surgical screw that was placed inside it.

If he was to fall in an area away from public sight and bent or cracked his knee, he would be immobilised and stuck without any assistance.

Muhammad describes his brother as 'seriously vulnerable' and 'seriously weak' due to his eating disorder.

He also claims his brother has low levels of alertness to the risks and awareness of his surroundings, making him an easy target for criminals, especially as he is physically unfit to defend himself.

That's why Muhammad has been urging the police to raise the seriousness of his disappearance and is pleading to the public for help.

"It is totally out of character for him to go missing and it makes me deeply concerned that something really terrible has happened to him."

The police are urging anyone with any information to call 101, tweet @MetCC or call Missing People on 116000.
