A High street bank and x+why has launched the first Eagle Lab branch in Chiswick, in hopes of boosting the UK's start-up ecosystem.

x+why, a leading flexible workspace specialist has partnered with Barclays to launch a new Eagle Lab, with a combined mission to support local entrepreneurs and ambitious startups to connect, innovate and grow.

The Eagle Lab will provide start-ups and entrepreneurs with co-working, office, and meeting space.

Barclays will also support entrepreneurs with access to banking services, business expertise, mentoring and coaching from scale-up specialists.

Dr Rupa Huq, MP for Ealing Central and Acton, said: "As a lifelong local and child of local business through the background of my parents I am delighted to welcome the Barclays Eagle Lab to Chiswick.

"The Lab's working space, network and tools will support the West London business community to fulfil its growth plans and scalability ambitions.

"I encourage local entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses to apply and become part of the Lab."

The team will also host a full year-round events programme dedicated to promoting collaboration and innovation in the community.

Beyond providing a hub to work from, Eagle Labs offer members the opportunity to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, local organisations, universities, industry bodies and potential clients and investors across the country, to help them build their networks and grow.

The team will also host a full year-round events programme dedicated to promoting collaboration and innovation in the community.

Rupert Dean, CEO of x+why said: "We are delighted to partner with Barclays Eagle Labs at Chiswick. We have always been committed to uniting like-minded businesses, inspiring community, collaboration and culture, and this ethos chimes closely with the work that Barclays Eagle Labs are doing to enable entrepreneurs to connect, network and grow, and to support the UK's startup ecosystem more widely.

"I look forward to our innovative workspaces playing their part in accelerating the development of this new generation of businesses and supporting them in amplifying their work and growing successfully and sustainably."

Matt Corbidge, Head of Barclays Eagle Labs, said: "We're so pleased to be opening our doors in Chiswick. With the right partner on board, we feel that this site is going to enable businesses to make huge strides forward in growth and innovation across a wide range of industries.

"The Lab also has a dedicated Barclays Ecosystem manager to ensure that there are opportunities to provide feedback and discussion on the types of services and support delivered.

"Combined with x+why's expertise and skillset we feel we can make a larger impact for those businesses looking for support at a crucial stage of development."

Businesses can apply now to become residents at the Chiswick Eagle Lab, as well as the other 31 physical Eagle Labs across the UK.
