AN Ealing fish restaurant has been nominated for Restaurant of the Year by halal food news website, Feed the Lion.

Bronek Kamienski is the owner and head chef of well-known fish restaurant, Bronek's Fish Restaurant, which has been running for over a decade.

The restaurant, located on Northfield Avenue, was recently shortlisted for Restaurant of the Year by Feed the Lion, which deals exclusively with halal restaurants.

The website described Bonek's as the restaurant that surprised them the most, being 'consistently good' with every dish.

Kamienski told Nub News: "It's great to be nominated, it helps spread the word that we've got unique products, we're a family business with fresh seafood and it's great to be recognised."

Kamienski bought the business 14 years ago when it still used to be known as the Park Café and slowly but surely added his own personal touches and turned it into the fish-based restaurant it is today.

He said: "I've been around fish my entire life, I spent a lot of time on the Cornish coast and fish is my expertise so I wanted to focus on that.

"Fish is international, every country in the world eats fish, albeit they all cook it differently.

"I want people that come to our restaurant to eat what they want, not what they're forced to get.

"I'll often ask a customer's ethnicity and try to cook their food in the same way that their parents and grandparents would do it."

Kamienski takes pride in having an all-inclusive restaurant that accommodates all backgrounds and religions, which is why he doesn't serve meat or alcohol.

"Although I'm not religious, I want my customers to feel like that they're not limited when they come to eat at our restaurant due to their religion or ethnicity," he added.
