A MAN from Ealing has been sentenced to three years' imprisonment for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Gary Byrne, 59, was arrested by police officers in Ealing Common on September 8 2020.

Byrne was seen openly dealing drugs at a bus stop by the officers who were on patrol nearby.

They quickly detained him, and he was seen dropping several wraps of crack cocaine and was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Additional crack cocaine was recovered after a strip search was conducted at the police station.

His mobile phone was also examined, which provided further evidence.

Byrne plead guilty at court and on May 26 he was convicted of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

PC Chris Kendall from the West Area Violence Suppression Unit said: "Drug dealing is a serious offence.

"It attracts serious violence and anti-social behaviour, both of which obviously have a large impact on the local community which is why we work hard to catch those involved".
