Ealing Broadway has partnered with voluntary charity, Calling London, to launch a winter coat campaign to collect and redistribute coats.

Until Thursday 23 November, visitors are invited to drop off clean, pre-loved coats of all sizes to the centre's donation box, located outside Tiger.

Shoppers can donate anything from wool coats to ski jackets. All donations will be collected by Calling London and distributed to other Londoners who cannot afford to buy first-hand.

The initiative is part of Calling London's 13th annual Winter Coat Drive, which has seen thousands of people donating and picking up coats across London over the years.

Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, said: "We know it's likely that many families will have winter coats sitting unused in their homes.

"Donating them will not only free up some much-needed wardrobe space, but it will directly support those in need, while also helping the environment by giving coats a new life.

"Following the great success of our Clothes Swap and Uniform Shop, we wanted to continue to give back to those who may need additional support throughout the winter months.

"Community and sustainability are key priorities for us at Ealing Broadway. It's great to see shoppers coming together to help reduce waste and support those in need by giving their unwanted clothes a new home."

For the winter coat campaign, Calling London need coats of all sizes that are clean, in good condition and ready to be worn, including:

  • Wool Coats
  • Ski Jackets
  • Down Coats and Jackets
  • Duffle Coats

The following items will not be accepted for donations:

  • Thin rainwear / Kagouls
  • Fleeces / Jumpers
  • Workwear Jackets

Ealing Broadway is also set welcome its free Clothes Swap on Saturday 11 November – Sunday 12 November the fourth time this year.

It follows the successful event in July which saw over 10,000 items donated, including school uniform, tops, jumpers, dresses and jackets and 2.27 tonnes of clothing saved from landfill.
