AN Ealing based theatre company will be putting on four performances of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol just in time for Christmas.

A Wonderful Adventure was set up in 2017 by George C. Francis and Halie Darling.

The pair, who are engaged in real life, told Nub News that they aim to create innovative productions for the young and young at heart.

"We want to create adventures for people.

"At the same time we also want to have an ethical message within our shows, so that people take away something positive when they leave."

The couple takes great pride in helping teach young kids about good values.

Francis said: "We often are one of the first productions a young child might watch and we want them to take home an important message, such as to be kind, or to share."

Francis has been based in Ealing for the past three years, with Darling having moved to the area from Greater Manchester seven years ago.

They're planning to put on four performances of A Christmas Carol next week at the OPEN Ealing Arts Centre in Dickens Yard in Ealing Broadway.

There will be two shows taking place on Friday, December 18 at 4pm and 6pm, with two shows also on the following day, Saturday, December 19 at the same times.

"We were planning to do a production of Oliver Twist earlier in the year, but the pandemic hit and it was cancelled," said Darling.

"We were very upset with this, but luckily this opportunity presented itself, to do a Dickens play in Dickens Yard, it doesn't get better than that," she added.

Her fiance continued: "Many people will feel a bit like Scrooge this Christmas due to the pandemic and not being able to be close to their family.

"But just like in the play everything works out well in the end, so it will in real life and we wanted to bring some hope and joy to people's lives, just like Scrooge has at the end."

Tickets are limited due to social distancing, with only 30 available for each show.
