Draft of Visions for Northolt development revealed

The Visions for Northolt project has published a draft proposal on how to use the £7.2m investment secured from the Government's Levelling-up Funding.

Active travel, highways and public realm improvements that the funding can be used for range from widening narrow right turn pockets, installing new planting and introducing new stretches of protected cycle lanes.

Local people identified poor travel connectivity within and from Northolt, in particular the Ealing / Kensington Road and Church / Mandeville Road corridors. Daily travel data revealed the latter is the busiest route in Northolt, yet a 2021 survey of residents found it was disliked by 75% of respondents.

Designs released by Visions for Northolt this month propose removing a traffic lane to alleviate overcrowding from Northolt Underground Station, removing car parking spaces to widen footways for pedestrians, and reducing commuter parking.
