Covid-19 cases surge by 100% in Ealing: latest numbers and vaccination uptake

There are over 2,600 more infections of Covid-19 than a week ago within the borough of Ealing.

According to the latest statistics (December 15 - December 22), 5,210 people tested positive in Ealing over the last seven days – 2,611 more than the week leading up to December 22.

This means there has been a 100.5 per cent increase, with a rate of 1,278.7 per 100,000 people as per the Gov.uk website.

This is a significantly higher infection rate than both England and the United Kingdom, which are at 862.1 and 832.4 out of 100,000 people.

However, it is still lower than the current London rate, at 1,609, as the capital experiences a steep rise in cases compared to the rest of the country.

Central Ealing currently has a high rate of Covid cases, with 237 total cases recorded in Ealing Broadway East in the seven days up to 17 December.

This is a 233.8% increase in cases, Ealing Common experienced a 180% increase in this period and Ealing Broadway West a 125.8% increase.

Vaccinations in Ealing

Pitshanger has recorded the highest vaccination numbers in the borough with 77.7% receiving their first dose and 71.9% their second.

North Acton trails behind as 55.4% of the area have received a first dose and 47.9% their second.

First dose:

Northfields - 74.7%

South Ealing - 71.7%

St Mary's - 71.2%

Ealing Broadway West - 70.9%

West Ealing - 68.3%

Ealing Broadway East - 66.8% Second dose: Northfields - 69.1%

Ealing Broadway East - 61.6%

West Ealing - 62.3%

South Ealing - 65.7%

Ealing Broadway West - 65.8%

St Mary's - 66.3%
