VISITORS to the Gunnersbury Park main car park will encounter a £1 per hour charge from mid-September.

Charges will apply at all times and cars can be parked for a maximum of 4 hours.

Blue Badge holders will be exempt from the charges and time limit, and can park either in the main car park or in the disabled car park next to Gunnersbury Park Museum.

Visitors must pay via an app or using a credit / debit card at the machine on site, there is no cash option.

The community interest company (CIC) Gunnersbury Estate, who manage the park and museum, said the funds will be used to support and maintain the site.

In a statement the CIC said: "These funds are all the more essential following the effects of Covid-19 and the loss of the café on our income, and will help ensure that Gunnersbury survives and thrives."

The exact start date has yet to be announced and the CIC advised to check the Gunnersbury website and social medial channels closer to the time.

Gunnersbury Park is accessible by public transport from Kew Bridge station and Chiswick Park, South Ealing and Acton Town tube stops.
