Train strikes will be impacting Ealing in May after train drivers in the Aslef and RMT unions voted for another round of strikes.

There will be three days of train strikes on Friday 12th May, Wednesday 31st May, and Saturday 3rd June and they will be impacting 14 train companies, including Great Western Railway, causing travel havoc, especially with one of the days overlapping with the FA Cup Final.

GWR have said that large parts of their network will have no service on these days and those that are operating will see a reduced service.

In a statement of their website, GWR said: "On the strike days a reduced, revised timetable will operate across several train operators, including GWR. Many parts of the GWR network will have no service at all. Services will start later and only operate for a limited period during the day.

"During action short of a strike and the days after strikes, services could also be affected by a limited number of short-notice cancellations and alterations."

These strikes are a continuation of ongoing disputes that have lasted for a year between railway workers and providers and the Rail Delivery Group.

RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: "The RDG have reneged on their original proposals and torpedoed these negotiations.

"No doubt their decision is due to pressure exerted on them by the Tory government.

"Therefore, we have no alternative but to press ahead with more strike action and continue our campaign for a negotiated settlement on pay, conditions and job security.

"We are re-balloting our members and if we beat the draconian anti-trade union laws on turnout, we will have a renewed mandate for action.

"We will then put on a further programme of strike action to make the employers and the government who continue to hold the puppet strings, see sense in this dispute."
