Hanwell Community Library, in Cherington Road, is in need of volunteers to join their team.

The library has been run by volunteers since 2021 and is also home to the Ealing Law Centre, providing free help and advice to residents in W7 and W13.

At the moment, the library is looking for people who would be interested in joining the Ealing Law Centre Library Committee. 

Volunteers will play an active role in shaping the future of Hanwell Library through representing the views of volunteers, users, and the wider community and helping to develop, deliver and monitor a Library Action Plan.

Chloe Daniel, the library's development worker, said: "This is a great opportunity to join our friendly team. It's a really rewarding role and a chance to get involved in a number of activities we offer."

One of the volunteers added: "I really enjoy being part of the team here. I always went to the library when I was little and then I brought my children here. It's always been a central part of the community."

Councillor Polly Knewstub, Ealing's cabinet member for thriving communities, and Hanwell councillor, said: "I was at Hanwell Community Library just last week, and it's such a warm and welcoming place for residents to visit.

"The volunteers do a fantastic job, and without them we wouldn't have such a lovely place to enjoy. It's more than a library, it's a place to meet people and learn new things, too."
