McDonald's franchisee, Anisha Sharma, who runs and operates the Hanwell McDonald's restaurant has sponsored The Women's Football League.

The Women's Football League (The WFL) aims to create and develop the infrastructure for women's grassroots football in West London.

The WFL's platform is dedicated to providing professionally organised, competitive football opportunities for female football teams. The WFL is actively raising aspirations and attainment levels in women's grassroots football it says.

McDonald's franchisee, Anisha Sharma, owner of the Hanwell chain, said: "The Women's Football League is a fantastic organisation that encourages women to keep fit, thrive in sports and have fun.

"It's a privilege to support and sponsor them and west London's first seven-a-side football league, which I'm very excited about. It is great to see local women enjoying playing their fixtures in an environment they feel comfortable and celebrated in."

McDonald's Fun Football programme is committed to providing over 10 million hours of free football opportunities to over 1 million children by 2026 it says.
