David Burvill is half the man he was .....11 1/2 stone gone after joining Ealing Slimming World Group.

When David 62 joined Slimming World Ealing in June 2023 he topped the scales at over 28 stone, with numerous health issues, related in the main, to his excess weight and general lack of activity.

He struggled with his mobility had Type 2 Diabetes, Sleep apnoea and was quickly spiralling towards premature old age. 

After losing a staggering 11 1/2 stone his diabetes is in remission. He's is now active and walking a minimum of five miles a day - achieving all his Body Magic Awards, which is Slimming Worlds bespoke activity programme. 

David said: "He never dreamed he could walk to the end of his road without getting out of breath, let along taking part in this years Cancer Research's 5K Race for Life."

David and all his family have always been on the heavier side and he never thought anything about it and thought it was normal. 

The turning point for David was when his mobility was becoming a real issue and it was beginning for him to support his wife.

When David joined, he knew it would work, as he joined some years ago and had lost 3.5 stone but unfortunately gave up and went back to all his old habits before he'd learned how to sustain these new healthy habits. 

David now walks a minimum of five miles a day all thanks to support from Slimming World Ealing (credit: Image supplied).

The man from Ealing is now enjoying family meals like Sunday roasts, chicken curry, spaghetti Bolognese and even full English breakfasts. 

David added: "I just can't believe how a few small changes to the way my Wife, Maria, and I shop, cook and eat can give us all such amazing results - I really wish I'd found Slimming World earlier."

Lisa, David's consultant commented: "David is a true inspiration in group and it just feels like every week the group is celebrating with David as he gets his next award. The group and I are so proud of him, David and Maria have made friends for life."

David also shared that if he could give his younger self a message it would be "Do it now - and live the life you deserve" and he truly believes that his life has been enriched by losing the weight with support of his Slimming World group.
