The Importance of Being Earnest

By Oscar Wilde

Directed by Richard Gallagher

Performed at The Questors Judi Dench Playhouse for 7 performances

16 - 21 July, daily at 7.45 pm; 2.30 pm on Sunday 17th July

Oscar Wilde's best-loved comedy of manners bursts onto the Judi Dench Playhouse stage to celebrate the 75th anniversary of The Questors Student Group.

Wilde's comic tale follows bachelors Algernon Moncrieff and Jack Worthing as they create alter egos to escape their tedious existence. In an attempt to win the hearts of two young women, they soon get caught up in their own deceit, where the layers of mistaken identity confuse and bewilder all involved.

Featuring some of Wilde's most memorable and eccentric characters, this delightful mockery of Victorian sensibilities has plenty of twists and turns, throwing love, logic and language into the air.

The Importance of Being Earnest is a multi-award-winning play, and widely regarded as Wilde's best play. It will be performed by The Questors Student Group.
