Home Bargains has announced that its staff will be getting Boxing Day off and will also be getting a bonus of two weeks' extra pay.

This is the third year in a row the company will be closed for Boxing Day, to allow its staff have a break.

In addition, anyone employed before March 22, who hasn't self-isolated over the past seven months, will now receive two weeks' extra pay in November.

A spokesperson for Home Bargains said: "We want to recognise how hard our staff have worked throughout some very challenging times and allow them to relax and truly enjoy the break safely with their loved ones.

"Home Bargains is a family-run business, and we know the importance of being together at Christmas time, now more than ever.

"Our staff work tirelessly to keep all our stores running smoothly no matter what and this is our way of saying thank you to all of our staff for their hard work and commitment."

Staff Supervisor at the Southall branch, Rosy Jablonski, told Nub News: "We're delighted with the news.

"We all work hard every single day, so it's a way for the company to say thank you to us and we all really appreciate it."
