SEGA Europe has provided laptops to students most in need at the University of West London (UWL).

The global gaming company, which has longstanding links with the University, stepped up to support those most affected with the restrictions by donating 22 laptops.

The offer was made as part of UWL's COVID-19 Response Appeal and will not only ensure that even more students have all the resources they need to continue with their education, but allow them to access online teaching should they be prevented from going to campus due to further lockdown measures.

The donation is the latest benefit from the partnership between the University and the gaming giants, which also offers scholarships and award programmes to computing students, with interns also being taken on at SEGA's Brentford headquarters.

Stuart Wright, Chief Technical Offer at SEGA, and Chair of UWL's Industry Consultative Committee, said: "We're so pleased to be able to offer these laptops to students who need them most in such challenging times.

"We are living in an age where being connected and having access to the right IT resources is incredibly important, and we are pleased to be able to use our links with the University to support our communities in even more ways."
