Campaigners plan to demonstrate outside an Ealing Council meeting tomorrow to raise awareness of a youth centre threatened with closure.
Ealing Council will be debating a petition to save the Young Adults Centre (YAC) in Southall from demolition at their Cabinet Meeting tomorrow evening.
A committee of young people known as the Ealing Young Champions, supported by the Young Ealing Foundation, launched a campaign to Ealing Council this summer to save the centre.
This followed news that Ealing Council planned to demolish the youth club and redevelop the site for housing.
Their petition received over 1,500 signatures, which meant the council had to discuss the decision at a full Council meeting.
High profile youth work organisations have backed the campaign including UK Youth, Shout Out UK and John Lyon's Charity.
The YAC in one of three purpose-built youth centres in Ealing and has been a safe space and community for young people in Ealing since the 1980s.
Campaigners plan to assemble at 6pm outside of the Town Hall in advance of the meeting of the cabinet to raise awareness of the debate.
