AFTER a difficult academic year affected by the coronavirus pandemic, Year 13 students at St Benedict's School in Ealing have been celebrating their outstanding A Level results earlier today (August 10).

Students received an incredible number of A*-A grades, with 65.4%, while over one-third of grades (36.1%) were A*s.

In order to attain their grades, the students had to sit a series of assessments under exam conditions, which their teachers then marked and graded against criteria given by examination boards.

Three quarters of students have managed to secure places at the UK's top 30 universities, including Oxbridge, Russell Group institutions and medical schools, with the majority heading to their first-choice university.

Headmaster, Andrew Johnson, said: "These grades are a great credit to our Year 13 students, who have worked extremely hard in the difficult, uncertain and sometimes stressful circumstances of the pandemic to achieve outstanding results.

"They have shown impressive resilience and should feel very proud of what they have achieved."
